PROMISE RECEIVES DENTAL GRANT 2023

Promise Community Health Center in northwest Iowa received a Dental Grant.

In July 2023, Promise Community Health Center will receive a Delta Dental Foundation Grant for multilingual educational materials and oral hygiene products. Our dental coordinator, Beth Faber, applied for this grant, knowing this grant supports our Promise mission.

Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation’s mission is to strengthen and transform the health and smiles of all Iowans. This Foundation invests in activities that promote health and smiles for all Iowans through their core initiatives, oral health, oral and overall health integration and overall health through an equity lens. Oral Health is where the majority of their funding is concentrated, which will continue to support pioneering approaches to advance oral health care and the integration of oral health with overall health.

Children's Dental Health Month | Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa | Federally Qualified Health Center serving northwest Iowa | Promise offers medical care, prenatal care, behavioral healthcare, population health care, health coaching as well as dental and vision care.

Promise Community Health Center’s mission is to provide holistic care and meet patients where they are. Thanks to the Delta Dental Foundation Grant, patients who come in for medical appointments, will also receive dental wellness education.

Children and their parents will receive educational materials highlighting dental rules in a fun, colorful way. These children’s learning materials will be available in English and Spanish.
Patients will also receive toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss at yearly physicals.

We believe that this type of involvement in education from providers will improve overall health in our communities.

How will this grant impact Sioux County?

Promise CHC partners with local schools, libraries and community outreach programs to educate communities we serve about dental care. Dental hygiene kits will come with age-appropriate educational instructions on dental care as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss.
