Promise Community Health Center recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity by donating a home that will serve as a beacon of hope for a family or individual. Promise was able to purchase the property, furthering their plans for expansion. This act of kindness not only demonstrates Promise’s commitment to delivering the promise of a healthier community but also exemplifies its dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
The process began with Promise CEO Emily Tuschen, who played a crucial role in the entire process. She worked closely with Kurt Franje, Habitat for Humanity’s Sioux County Director, and his skilled crew, communicating to ensure the smooth removal of the home. Known for their expertise and experience, Habitat for Humanity’s mission was closely aligned with that of Promise. Their shared vision of transforming the house into a blessing for another family resonated deeply with both Promise and the previous homeowner. The homeowner’s wishes were fulfilled as the house found a new purpose, and Habitat for Humanity had the opportunity to provide much-needed housing to a deserving family.
One of the previous homeowner’s priorities was for the existing house’s structure to be reused, benefiting a family within the local community. After exploring different options, it became evident that Habitat for Humanity was the perfect fit.– Emily Tuschen, CEO
The space that the home occupied will now be transformed into additional patient parking for Promise Community Health Center. As the center continues to grow and meet the needs of the community, the additional parking spaces will be a welcome convenience for patients and their families.
