As May rolls around, it’s time to shine a spotlight on mental health awareness. This month is dedicated to breaking down stigma, offering support, sharing local resources, and raising awareness about mental health issues. This year, we are excited to be partnering with Sioux Center Health and other local organizations and businesses to spread mental health awareness!
As part of this partnership, local coffee and tea shops are brewing up more than just your favorite beverages; they’re also serving up awareness and support for mental health. Participating establishments like 712 Nutrition, Casey’s Bakery, and New Grounds in Sioux Center, along with The Grain House and ANEW Nutrition in Hull, and Showroom Sweets and Northwest Nutrition in Hawarden, are offering specialty “Better Together” drinks. By purchasing these drinks, you’ll contribute to spreading awareness and building community.
We’re encouraging everyone to join us in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health is wearing the color green on May 16. Whether it’s a green shirt, a ribbon, etc., wearing green on this day sends a powerful message of unity and compassion. Encourage your colleagues, friends, and family to join in and share their photos online using the hashtag #bettertogetherSC.
