Jason and Mandi received their prenatal care for Sunshine from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Erica Robertson, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Hersom family opened their home for Sunshine’s home birth in Sioux City, Iowa. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Erica Robertson helped deliver Sunshine during the birth at their home.
Sunshine was welcomed into the family by big brother Anthony (17), sister Jessica (16), brother Nathan (14), sister Rachel (12), brother Isaiah (11), brother Uriah (11), brother Andrew (9), and sister Joslyn (8).

Jason and Mandi thought the entire staff was wonderful. From the time they came in, they always felt welcome and cared for.
Jason and Mandi put their trust in Kari and thought she was so amazing. Being in the comfort of their home and still receiving such great care made their experience a very good one. They also thought Erika’s caring disposition was a great comfort.
