Promise Community Health Center is very pleased to announce that they have received the Iowa Cancer Consortium Grant.
The Iowa Cancer Consortium Grant is $25,000 to help fund the prevention of breast cancer. These funds will be used to increase access to breast health education, care, and mammography services for uninsured and underinsured women in Northwest Iowa. This project addresses disparities including cost, language and transportation while providing patient education and increasing access to mammography.
The Iowa Cancer Consortium is Iowa’s statewide comprehensive cancer coalition which encourages collaboration for a bigger impact in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and quality of life. Annually, the Iowa Cancer Consortium Board of Directors call for projects in support of the Iowa Cancer Plan. The Invitation for Proposals (IFP) process is typically released in early-spring and intends to fund as many collaborative projects which address identified gaps in Iowa’s cancer control efforts as possible. Applicants may typically apply for up to $25,000 annually.
About The Iowa Cancer Consortium
The Iowa Cancer Consortium is Iowa’s statewide comprehensive cancer coalition. As a leader in cancer control, the Iowa Cancer Consortium offers the state’s cancer stakeholders access to resources, expertise, and non-competitive collaboration across traditional boundaries for a bigger impact in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and quality of life.
All Iowans have a unique role in reducing the state’s cancer burden. Together with its partners, the Iowa Cancer Consortium maintains the Iowa Cancer Plan, serving as a roadmap for comprehensive cancer control efforts in Iowa for the next five years. It is meant to help provide direction and guide all Iowans involved in cancer to work together towards accomplishing similar goals. Additionally, the Iowa Cancer Consortium’s Board of Directors solicit project proposals in support of the Iowa Cancer Plan on an annual basis – funding collaborative projects that address identified gaps in Iowa’s cancer control and prevention efforts.
Promise Community Health Center is honored to receive the Iowa Cancer Consortium Grant for the second year in a row.
