Promise Community Health Center is excited to announce that Ashley Tuvera has joined our team as a Temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor (t-LMHC)!
Born and raised in Bloomfield, Iowa, Ashley recently moved to northwest Iowa in August 2023. The move marked a new chapter in her career and family life, and she couldn’t be more thrilled about joining our Mental Health Team.
Ashley attended Buena Vista University, where her passion for mental health counseling grew. She was actively involved in the American Counseling Association and The Association for Play Therapy, which enhanced her understanding and skills in the field.
For five years, she worked in social work, providing essential family support as a Social Emotional Learning Specialist in an elementary school setting. This role allowed her to directly impact the emotional and social development of young students, a cause deeply important to her.
Ashley felt called to mental health counseling at the age of sixteen. She noticed a pressing need for mental health services among her peers and felt she could be a safe and supportive presence for them. This feeling guided her career path, leading her to become a counselor who strives to be a reliable and comforting figure for those going through mental health challenges.
She first heard about Promise Community Health Center shortly after moving to Sioux Center. She was drawn to Promise because of the positive things she heard about it and the impactful work it does within the community.
