Josh and Bethany Hancock chose to receive their prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center, a trusted provider of home birth services in Sioux Center, Iowa. Promise’s team of three certified nurse midwives – Audra De Groot, Kari Ney, and Jeannette Hasley – along with registered nurses, medical assistants, and interpreters, provided exceptional care and support throughout Michael’s journey into the world.
The home birth took place in the Hancock’s welcoming home, with Certified Nurse Midwife Jeannette Hasley and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg providing expert guidance and assistance. Michael James was born into a nurturing environment surrounded by his loved ones.
Michael is also welcomed by big brothers Liam (11), Levi (8), Andrew (6), and Benjamin (2).
At Mr. Michael’s home birth, the focus was on empowering the family and providing a safe, supportive environment for the baby’s arrival. Congratulations to the Hancock family on this beautiful home birth experience!

Josh and Bethany said one of their favorite moments during prenatal checkups was getting to know Jeannette, and how kind and supportive everyone was with their other children. They also thought that the delivery was so wonderful, and the rest and recovery was fantastic! Their favorite moment during labor and delivery was the prayer time by Kris!
