Brittany and Marcus chose to receive their prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center, a trusted provider of home birth services in Sioux Center, Iowa. Promise’s team of three certified nurse midwives – Audra De Groot, Kari Ney, and Jeannette Hasley – along with registered nurses, medical assistants, and interpreters, provided exceptional care and support throughout Khari’s journey into the world.
The home birth took place in Mr. Khari’s welcoming home, with Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg providing expert guidance and assistance. Khari Jade was born into a nurturing environment surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Khari Jade is also welcomed by big brothers Darrian (14), Adrian (9), Haven (6), and Marcus Jr. (3).
At Khari’s home birth, the focus was on empowering the family and providing a safe, supportive environment for the baby’s arrival. Congratulations to their family on this beautiful home birth experience

Brittany said her favorite part of labor and delivery was being so in awe that she finally did what she wanted and birthed at home and unmedicated. She said Kari Ney and Kris Tinklenberg were nothing short of amazing and all of Promise Community Health Center are very welcoming. When asked about the post-birth experience, Brittany said our staff provided the support you don’t get anywhere else, she felt like she was at home.
