Certified Nurse Midwife Pam Hulstein and nurses Erica Robertson and Jenna Wynia of Promise Community Health Center of Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care and delivery services for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth in Sioux Falls, SD.
Huxley was welcomed into the family by big brother Leeland and big sister Oakleigh.
Sharing some highlights from their prenatal checkups, labor and delivery and post birth experience here is what the Johnson’s had to say. Pam and Erica were always very considerate. We love that we never felt rushed in any of our prenatal appointments. They always answered all of our questions. Then we had a peaceful birth! It was beautiful because Jessica felt in charge of her body and doing what she thought was most comfortable. Also Pam gave wonderful suggestions during the birthing process that made the birth more comfortable. All of the care givers were very in tune with Jessica’s needs and desires and she loved that!
Jessica has healed quicker and feels healthier after the home birth than her first two births.

Promise Community Health Center is the only facility in the northwest Iowa area that offers the opportunity to have an assisted birth in your home with Certified Nurse Midwives. Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
