Francesca Jade is the daughter of Ephron and Hilary Poyer. Hilary and Ephron had a home birth in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

• Born: October, 30, 2000 at 2:50 am
• Weight: 8 lbs
• Length: 21.5 in long
Ephron and Hilary received their prenatal care for Francesca from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Poyer’s opened their home for Francesca’s home birth in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Jenna Wynia helped deliver Francesca during the birth at their home.
Francesca Jade was welcomed into the family by big sister Savannah!
Poyer Family Promise Experience.
One of the highlights Ephron shared about their Promise experience was the encouragement from the Promise team in unison for Hilary to push after Francesca’s head came out. Then joy and celebration as soon as Francesca was fully delivered. Hilary had a long labor and we talked about the possibility of transferring to a hospital if labor did not progress. We are so thankful that did not have to happen.
After Francesca was born we loved how Kari Ney, our midwife shared with our older daughter Savannah all about the placenta and how Kari patiently answered all the questions of our curious two year old!

Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
