The Waldners received their prenatal care for Amelia from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Clazina Blom part of the homebirth team from Promise.
The Waldners opened their home for Amelia’s home birth in Tea, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Clazina Blom helped deliver Amelia during the birth at their home.
Amelia was welcomed into the family by big sister Eliana, 4 and big brother Levi, 2.
Certified Nurse Midwife Kari and OB Nurse Clazina were very personable and took their time to get to know Jeffrey and Sara and their wishes. Sara felt relaxed and peaceful being able to go through labor in her own home. Jeffrey and Sara felt this was the best care they had received during labor, delivery, and post-delivery!

Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
