Bill and Amy received their prenatal care for Patrick David from Certified Nurse Midwife Belinda Lassen at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Erica Robertson, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Crew family opened their home forPatrick’s home birth in Aurelia, Iowa. Certified Nurse Midwife Belinda Lassen and OB Nurse Jamie Poulsen Schoenherr, helped deliver Patrick David during the birth at their home.
Mr. Patrick was welcomed into the family by sisters and big brother, Catherine (6), Elena (4) and William ( 1 1/2).
The Crew Family Promise Experience.
Amy appreciated how Belinda and the OB nurses answered any questions she had and never rushed her prenatal appointments. Amy has had 3 unmedicated hospital births prior to her 4th birth at home. Out of all all four birthing experiences, this home birth was her favorite. Being able to labor at home was very relaxing as she was in active labor for three hours and twenty minutes. After baby Patrick was born, Amy and babe were taken care of extremely well. She could not have asked for a better birthing team!

Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
