Nora Rose is the daughter of Todd and Andrea Dempster. The Dempster family had a home birth in Le Mars, Iowa.

Andrea and Todd received their prenatal care for Miss Nora from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Dempster family opened their home for Nora’s home birth in Le Mars, Iowa. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Miss Nora Rose during the birth at their home.
Nora was welcomed into the family by big brothers and sister, Han (9), Piper (7) and Varian (5).
The Dempster Family Promise Experience.
The Dempster family loved how phenomenal Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg were, they always took the time during prenatal visits to involved their other children. Their kids loved listening to their sister’s heartbeat and comparing it to their own. During labor and delivery Kari and Kris were encouraging and supportive. they coached Andrea to listen to her body and gave great explanations. Andrea felt cared for and secure. Labor was a breeze compared to previous experiences as a result. After Miss Nora was born, our midwife Kari patiently answered all our questions and Kris gave us pictures she took of our daughter’s first minutes. It was so special to snuggle with their newborn in their bed.

Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
