Promise Community Health Center, a beacon of hope for the underserved, has been diligently serving its community, catering to individuals facing significant hurdles in accessing essential healthcare services. From patients who have never had dental work and are unable to afford a dental visit to those grappling with the aftermath of trauma but lack the means to see a mental health therapist, and even individuals in desperate need of eyeglasses but without the financial resources to procure them, Promise Community Health Center has been a steadfast pillar of support.
Acknowledging the pressing needs of families within the communities it serves, Promise has taken proactive steps to address these challenges by establishing a series of patient assistance funds. These funds have been made possible through the generosity of local businesses, individuals, and families who have lent their support to ensure that nobody in their community is left without the care they require.
Our assistance funds allow for our staff to meet patients where they are and define what their needs are. These funds help not only with our healthcare services but also our transportation services, interpretation services, and more. Again, the goal is to break down barriers for people in our communities.– Kara Acevedo - Director of Finance
Saving for Smiles Fund
The Saving for Smiles Fund is a program dedicated to enhancing the oral health of children facing serious dental issues. This fund assists in making dental care accessible to those who would otherwise go without, ensuring that children can flash their bright, healthy smiles with confidence.
Eyes in Focus Fund
The Eyes in Focus Fund is another vital initiative that aims to provide children with the gift of clear vision. Through this program, Promise Community Health Center offers eyeglasses and comprehensive eye care to youngsters in need, enabling them to excel in their education and daily activities without the burden of impaired eyesight.
Healing Hearts Fund
The Healing Hearts Fund underscores the importance of mental health support in the lives of both children and adults. This fund is a beacon of hope for those who have experienced trauma or are battling mental health challenges, ensuring they have access to the therapeutic services necessary to heal and grow, thereby fostering stronger, more resilient communities.
Diaper Dollars
In recognition of the basic needs of families struggling to make ends meet, Promise Community Health Center also manages the Diaper Dollars Fund. This donation fund enables Promise Providers to procure essential packages of diapers, which are then distributed to families in need. By alleviating this fundamental concern, Promise aims to improve the overall well-being of families while helping them navigate challenging times with dignity.
It has been amazing to see each fund get used to change families and children’s lives. It is a ripple effect. Mom gets mental health therapy, which helps her deal with stress and in turn, can be a better mom. Dad gets glasses he has needed for years so he can be more efficient at his job and feel more effective. Kids get teeth fixed that have been bothering them for years and learn more about proper dental hygiene. It is so amazing to know the communities we live in are making this happen. Their donations change lives.– Kris Gesink - Marketing Coordinator
The need for these patient assistance funds continues to grow as Promise Community Health Center endeavors to meet the increasing healthcare needs of its diverse patient population. The unwavering support from local businesses, generous individuals, and caring families is indispensable in ensuring that Promise can continue its vital mission of providing accessible and compassionate healthcare services to those who need it the most. As the center remains dedicated to building healthier and more vibrant communities, it calls upon everyone to join hands in this noble endeavor, promoting health, healing, and hope for all.
