Mr. Josiah was welcomed into the world at home by his parents, Kelly and Kurt Franje. The Franje family had a safe and empowering home birth experience in Rock Valley, Iowa, under the care of experienced Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg.

Kelly and Kurt chose to receive prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center, a trusted provider of home birth services in Sioux Center, Iowa. Promise’s team of two certified nurse midwives – Audra De Groot and Kari Ney – along with registered nurses and medical assistants provided exceptional care throughout baby Josiah’s journey into the world.
The home birth took place in the Franje’s welcoming home, with Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg providing expert guidance and assistance. Mr. Josiah was born into a nurturing environment surrounded by his loved ones.
Baby Josiah is also welcomed by big sisters Matea (6), Jada (4), and Elida (2).
At Josiah’s home birth, the focus was on empowering the family and providing a safe, supportive environment for the baby’s arrival. Congratulations to Kelly and Kurt on this beautiful home birth experience!

Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
