May is National Mental Health Awareness Month also known as Brain Health Month. Promise Community Health Center is working to bring awareness and education to mental health. This month Promise has many activities planned for our staff and throughout our community to help bring awareness!
Promise is excited to announce a partnership with local business Center Fresh Group to emphasize the importance of mental health. We would like to cover our community in green this month. Stop by the Center Fresh Group corporate office or Promise Community Health Center to grab a large green ribbon for your business, church, organization, schools etc. We are asking for our communities to display a green ribbon with us to Break the Stigma!
Promise is also excited to again partner with Healthy Sioux County, a coalition of community health organizations and community resource providers to encourage schools, libraries, businesses, and community members to get out during the month of May to “CHALK THE WALK.” We had such a great turnout last year and so many participants! We loved posting all the great chalked driveways, parking lots and sidewalks!
Together we can reduce the stigma, encourage the conversation, normalize seeking help, and spread joy! Grab your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your co-workers, and CHALK THE WALK with us!
Promise will also be partnering with Center Fresh Group at their annual golf outing on June 22. Promise is excited to volunteer, share mental health education and raise money for our mental health program. We are so very thankful for this partnership.
Check the Promise and Center Fresh Group social media pages for more info, education and updates all during the month of May and join us to bring mental health awareness to our communities!
If you or someone you know is struggling help is available, you are never alone.
