Heidy Hernandez, Medical Assistant, and Interpreter is HERE FOR EVERY STEP!
Heidy Hernandez started her journey at Promise Community Health Center in December 2017. She plays many roles at Promise such as being a Medical Assistant for the Women’s Health/OB department and a Spanish Interpreter. She gained her experience through working with the Orange City Health System, Rock Industries in Rock Valley, and Hope Haven. Being bilingual in English and Spanish has always inspired her to do well at work and be a helpful resource for her patients.
Before coming to work at Promise, Heidy was pleased with the way she saw patients being treated and wanted to be able to do the same. She became passionate about assisting Spanish-speaking patients in the Women’s Health Department and giving patients the care they need in their own language. She is HERE FOR EVERY STEP for a variety of medical services in Spanish at Promise Community Health Center.
Her mission is to help the Women’s Health team and patients understand each other better, communicate better, and meet all their needs and expectations. Creating an environment, like the one at Promise CHC, where everyone is welcomed is what she enjoys most about her role.

Promise Community Health Center Midwives in Iowa
Promise Community Health Center is the only facility in the northwest Iowa area that offers the opportunity to have an assisted birth in your home with a Certified Nurse Midwife. Our Iowa Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history. Think you might be pregnant? Promise offers free and confidential pregnancy testing. We want to help you start your pregnancy care in the healthiest way for you and your baby. Results are available immediately and we can help you from there.
Call Promise to schedule an appointment for free pregnancy testing and meet with a Promise Nurse for next steps. Your plan may include scheduling an appointment with our Promise midwife providers for prenatal care or fertility counseling. If you don’t wish to become pregnant right now, your plan can include scheduling an appointment with our providers for birth control options.
