Promise Community Health Center is excited to announce that Dr. Maya Chuppe, has stepped into a new role as the Promise Dental Director. Dr. Chuppe joined Promise in June 2024 as a dentist and quickly became a vital part of our dental team. Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Chuppe brings a deep passion for holistic, patient-centered care and a strong commitment to improving access to dental services in our community.

Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree from the College of St. Benedict/Saint John’s University, followed by earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry. During her academic career, Dr. Chuppe demonstrated strong leadership and service, serving as President of the Creighton Chapter of the American Student Dental Association, National Chair of the ASDA Membership Committee, and Class Secretary. She was also a Student Ambassador and Teaching Assistant, showcasing her dedication to both education and advocacy.
Dr. Chuppe’s heart for service is evident in her volunteer work, including a three-week service trip to rural Dominican Republic through the Institute of Latin American Concern (ILAC), where she helped set up a mobile dental and medical clinic. She also provided care at Creighton’s after-hours extraction clinic and the Cura Clinic, which serves vulnerable populations with reduced-fee dental services.
As she transitions into the Dental Director role, Dr. Chuppe will continue her clinical and chair side duties, while also taking on new leadership and administrative responsibilities.
Over the last year, our team has worked hard to improve access to care and revamp our employee onboarding process. We’ve built a strong foundation, and I’m excited to continue that momentum. I feel so lucky to be a provider at Promise. I am looking forward to my new role and continuing to improve our department for both our patients and our staff.– Dr. May Chuppe - Dental Director
Her collaborative spirit, dedication to quality care, and natural leadership make her a perfect fit for this position. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association and serves on the Iowa Dental Association’s New Dentist Committee—a testament to her ongoing commitment to growth and professional development.
Outside of her work at Promise, Dr. Chuppe recently celebrated a personal milestone—she’s newly married! We’re thrilled to support her in both her personal and professional journeys.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Maya Chuppe on her new role. We look forward to the continued growth and excellence she will bring to our dental department and the broader Promise community.
