Promise Community Health Center has been named the 2025 Communicators of the Year by the Iowa Primary Care Association, recognizing the organization’s excellence in sharing its mission and connecting with patients and the community through clear, creative, and impactful communication.
The Communicators of the Year Award honors a community health center that demonstrates outstanding storytelling and engagement through social media, patient outreach, and other communication efforts that reflect the heart of community health.
This year’s award highlights the work of Promise’s Marketing Team, led by Kris Gesink, Director of Marketing, and Neftali Ramirez, Marketing Coordinator. Together, they’ve brought Promise’s mission to life through storytelling that celebrates both patients and staff — from heartfelt videos and community campaigns to everyday moments that showcase the compassion and dedication at the core of Promise’s care.
We’re so honored to receive this recognition. Our goal is always to communicate with authenticity — to tell the real stories of our patients and team members who make Promise what it is. None of this would be possible without our leadership’s support and our incredible staff who are always willing to participate, even when they’re not totally sure what we’re about to make them do!– Kris Gesink - Marketing Director

We love sharing the joy, laughter, and heart that fill the halls of Promise every day. This award really belongs to everyone here — from those on the frontlines caring for patients to those behind the scenes making it all possible.– Neftali Ramirez - Marketing Coordinator
The Promise marketing team credits the entire organization for embracing creativity and collaboration, all while keeping patients’ needs at the center of every message. At Promise, communication isn’t just about information — it’s about connection. We’re proud to share this award with our whole Promise family.
