Job Summary: Ensures that all persons contacting the clinic via phone or in person will be greeted and will receive prompt customer service. Provides dynamic and adaptable interpreter floater responsibilities that include accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services, while seamlessly transitioning between Mental Health and Dental Departments.

REPORTS TO: Dental Coordinator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets patients professionally both in person and on the phone.
- Quickly answering or properly referring questions and issues.
- Optimizes provider schedules and patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling.
- Notifies providers of patient arrivals.
- Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records.
- Verifies financial records and collecting patient charges while filing and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintains office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work station.
- Interprets sensitive information for patients and families as needed before, after, and during the patient/provider encounter, with discretion and tact.
- Communicates service to patient as well as provides educational materials and resources to the patient as directed by the provider.
- Thinks quickly and analytically to resolve ambiguities and conveys messages accurately in real-time.
- Adapts, flexes, and adjusts their approach to suit the needs of different clients/patients, environments, and interpreting modalities (such as simultaneous or consecutive interpretation).
- Implements personal stress management techniques to maintain focus, clarity, and composure under pressure or when interpreting sensitive information.
- Performs other necessary duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills both in person and by phone.
- Able to multi-task and identify priority of needs.
- Highly detail oriented.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, with one to two years of relevant office experience required.
- Successful completions of two-year office training program or equivalent academic degree preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit for long periods of time, is required to use routine office equipment to talk, hear, write, read small print, and to lift boxes of no more than 30 pounds.
