Job Summary: Serving as the first point of contact for all callers contacting Promise, Patient Access Representatives are responsible for portraying the welcoming and caring atmosphere of the health center, while providing support to all callers and supporting the operations of the facility.
FULL TIME – 36 HOURS
SALARY RANGE: Hourly Position
REPORTS TO: Clinical Operations Coordinator
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes customer calls and provides accurate department routing
- Documents and sends detailed messages to appropriate department and personnel
- Collects and registers patient data including insurance/payer source information
- Schedules appointments for patients across the health center
- Initiates calls to patients for appointment needs and confirmation
- Provides accurate information to callers and the public about Promise CHC services
- Refers patients to the Financial Counselors for assistance as needed
- De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied customers and offers support
- Performs other job duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Able to manage stress successfully
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer, typing and data entry abilities
- Consistent attention to detail and organization skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a medical clinic setting is preferred but not required
- Experience in customer service is preferred but not required
- Nursing experience beneficial
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time
