Rita is the daughter of Nicho and Maira Curiel Topete. The Curiel Topete family had a hospital birth at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Nicho and Maira received their prenatal care for Miss Rita from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the OB birth team from Promise.
Rita was welcomed into the family by big sisters Aurora (2) and Maddeline (1).
