Eric and Erin received their prenatal care for Mr. Wade Raymond from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Smiths opened their home for Wade Raymond’s home birth in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Mr. Wade during the birth at their home.
Wade was welcomed into the family by big brothers Everett (10), Owen (6), Monroe (2), and big sister Prudence (8).

Eric and Erin loved being able to hear Wade’s heartbeat. Erin also loved having her mom present for an ultrasound. The Smith family had so many amazing labor and delivery experiences such as Erin being in labor and looking over to see her husband helping the other kids with lunch, walking through her flower garden to encourage contractions, and seeing Kris braid her daughter’s hair!

Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
