Megan and Christian received their prenatal care for Cecilia from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Figveroa family opened their home for Cecilia Rose’s home birth in Sioux City, Iowa. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Cecilia during the birth at their home.

The Figveroa family loved their time at Promise Community Health Center. They gave wonderful care with amazing attention to detail making our family very comfortable. Also during labor and delivery Kari and Kris gave us so much support, Kari even french braided my har! One of our favorite moments was when at 38 weeks we got to see our babe’s face in the ultrasound!

Promise Community Health Center is the only facility in the northwest Iowa area that offers the opportunity to have an assisted birth in your home with Certified Nurse Midwives. Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
