Dillon and Hope received their prenatal care for Miss Emrys from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Borchardt’s opened their home for Emrys’ home birth in Vermillion, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Miss Emrys during the birth at their home.

Hope and Dillon shared at their prenatal appointments at Promise Community Health Center, everyone was so welcoming, encouraging and informative. They appreciated how great Kari and Kris were and had fun getting to know them! During the labor and delivery at their home, the Borchardt’s appreciated how the Promise team was very open to what they wanted. The atmosphere during labor was amazing! Hope also shared that face timing and calling Kris and Kari with any questions they had post birth was so helpful. The Borchardt’s loved finally being able to be together as a happy family!

Promise Community Health Center is the only facility in the northwest Iowa area that offers the opportunity to have an assisted birth in your home with Certified Nurse Midwives. Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
