Promise’s medical department has been chosen to participate in the Midwest Network for Oral Health Integration. This is a 3 year project focusing on integration of oral health within the medical team; specifically oral health guidance and risk assessment for children between the ages of 6-11 years.
Amanda Rozeboom, Promise Community Health Center’s Director of Clinic Services shared, ” Promise is always striving to look at the whole person, the whole patient. Integrating this additional step into our patients’ medical appointment is one more way we are doing that. Insuring not only are our patients getting great healthcare but also do they need great dental care as well.”
Simple questions asked by the Promise Community Health Center Medical Team will be:
- How many sugary drinks do you consume in a day?
- When was your last dental check up?
- Do you brush your teeth 2xs or more per day with fluoride toothpaste?
The Midwest Network for Oral Health Integration was developed to improve access to and utilization of comprehensive, high-quality oral health care for children 6-11 who are receiving health care in community health centers and develop an integrated medical/dental home.
