Kate Vanessa, daughter of Darin and JoAnna Rozeboom of Rock Valley, was born Wednesday, Feb. 17, in her home, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches. She has two brothers, Luke and Alex.
The family received prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center. Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen assisted with the home birth.
This was JoAnna’s first home birth experience. She chose that route after receiving more information and education about it.
She is glad she did.
“This was just a better way to go,” she said. “It was just great to be home. It was a great atmosphere. I would definitely do it that way again.”
