Oscar and Tesza received their prenatal care for Elias from Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Larios family opened their home for Elias’s home birth in Brandon, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Elias during the birth at their home.
Elias Cruz was welcomed into the family by big sister Oaklyn (3) and brother Augusto (1).

One of Oscar and Tesza’s highlights of this whole experience was seeing the baby on ultrasounds and finding out they were having a boy.
Elias is healthy, and the family had a great first home birth experience.

Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
