Mr. Silas Reed was welcomed into the world at home, by parents Tyler and Shelsta Kaufmann. The Kaufmann’s had a safe and empowering home birth experience, under the care of experienced Certified Nurse Midwife Audra DeGroot and OB Nurse Erica Robertson.

Tyler and Shelsta chose to receive their prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center, a trusted provider of home birth services in Sioux Center, Iowa. Promise’s team of three certified nurse midwives – Audra DeGroot, Kari Ney, and Jeannette Hasley – along with registered nurses, medical assistants, and interpreters, provided exceptional care and support throughout Silas’s journey into the world.
The home birth took place in the Kaufmann’s welcoming home, with Certified Nurse Midwife Audra DeGroot and OB Nurse Erica Robertson providing expert guidance and assistance. Silas was born into a nurturing environment surrounded by his loved ones.
Silas Reed is also welcomed by big sister Adeline (2).
At Tyler and Shelsta’s home birth, the focus was on empowering the family and providing a safe, supportive environment for the baby’s arrival. Congratulations to the Kaufmann family on this beautiful home birth experience!

Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
