The proud parents of Mr. Martin Oliver, Jaron and Elizabeth, chose Promise Community Health Center for prenatal care because of the compassionate, personalized care the team provides. Having worked with the Promise team for all four of her pregnancies, she deeply appreciates how the midwives listen to her desires, respect her birth preferences, and provide expert guidance throughout pregnancy.
Elizabeth has been grateful to have all four of her babies at home with the support of Promise’s midwifery team. During labor and delivery, she was especially grateful for how the team helped her with position changes to assist in the final stages of labor—leading to her best birth experience yet!
Elizabeth’s advice for families considering home birth:
“It’s worth it! If you have the opportunity, schedule an appointment and talk with the midwives at Promise Community Health Center. I wasn’t sure what to expect with my first home birth, but now, after four home births, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s the most rewarding and comforting experience. I am so thankful we chose a home birth.”

Promise Community Health Center is the only facility in the northwest Iowa area that offers the opportunity to have an assisted birth in your home with a Certified Nurse Midwife. Our Iowa Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
