Deacon is the son of Garrett and Cadee Lawson. The Lawson family had a home birth in Brandon, South Dakota.

Cadee and Garrett received their prenatal care for Mr. Deacon from Certified Nurse Midwife Audra De Groot at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Lawson’s opened their home for Deacon’s home birth in Brandon, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Audra De Groot and OB Nurse Kris Tinklenberg helped deliver Deacon Willian during the birth at their home.
Deacon was welcomed into the family by excited big sisters, Roslyn (4) and Jovie (2).

Cadee and Garrett loved hearing Deacon’s heartbeat for the first time during their prenatal appointments at Promise. At their home they loved having praise and worship time with their family when active labor started. The Lawson’s loved hearing Deacon’s first cry and holding him for the first time right in their home.

Our Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 75 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
