Baby Marshal arrived safely and peacefully in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with the compassionate care of Certified Nurse Midwife Kari Ney and OB Nurse Katie Milbrath guiding the way.

What did you appreciate most about your prenatal checkups and appointments?
“Kari’s genuine kindness and care for my unique pregnancy journey and her joy over the precious baby I was carrying. Knowing there was someone who could listen to me, comfort me, and answer all my questions was worth gold.”
What did you appreciate most about your labor/delivery experience?
“Birth is miraculous and beautiful, even though it includes all the unknowns and the pain. In the midst of the most vulnerable and transitional times of our family, somehow, the midwife and the nurse easily and beautifully seem to become a part of our family to bring this new member forth. This is my 5th baby, and it never ceases to amaze me how different and unique each birth can be. I appreciated how Kari and Katie became like family to us and how they supported me and my family through this labor and birth and sacrificed sleep and comfort to help us. Their job is glamorous, in my opinion, they value life and love and hold high the priority of family! I’m grateful for the staff at Promise that enables families to experience birth in such a wonderful way!”
What would you tell other patients considering having a home birth?
“If you are considering having a home birth, I would say 100% go for it! The midwives at Promise are completely and utterly capable of all the care and support to help you with anything you go through. They are top-notch, and you’d never regret doing a home birth with them. It’s been one of the best choices of my entire life to choose Promise prenatal care and home births over hospital births!”

Our Iowa Midwives are highly trained and have over 40+ years of combined birthing experience. What do you want your birth experience to look like? Our providers take the time to respectfully explore that question. Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
