Promise Community Health Center is excited to welcome bilingual Mental Health Therapist Rebecca Mangold, LMHC, RPT, to our team!
Rebecca’s educational journey reflects her diverse interests and commitment to serving her community. She pursued her undergraduate degree at Northwestern College, graduating with a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish. She continued her academic career at the University of South Dakota, where she earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
After graduating, she started working as a mental health therapist at the Creative Living Center in Rock Valley. There, she developed her skills as she worked in both in-office and school-based settings. It was during this time that Rebecca became a Registered Play Therapist, finding immense joy in helping children navigate life’s challenges through the language of play. For the past four years, she has served the MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District, dedicating herself to providing mental health support to children and families.
I have always loved helping people and being someone they can trust. I like providing a safe place for people to process things in their lives. I wanted to pursue play therapy because there is something unique and amazing about understanding children through their language of play.– Rebecca Mangold, Mental Health Therapist
Rebecca’s decision to come to Promise Community Health Center was fueled by her desire to continue making a difference in her community. She was drawn to Promise’s commitment to meeting community needs and bridging gaps in healthcare services. The positive atmosphere and professional support offered at Promise further solidified her decision to join the team.
At Promise, she will bring her expertise in play therapy and fluency in Spanish to support the mental health needs of children and families. Outside of her professional career, she enjoys an array of hobbies, including walking, gardening, golfing, drawing, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
As she steps into her role as a Mental Health Therapist at Promise Community Health Center, Rebecca is eager to continue providing a safe and supportive space for children and families to thrive. With her dedication, compassion, and expertise, Rebecca is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of those she serves at Promise.
Rebecca will start play therapy appointments in July. Call 712-722-1700 to schedule an appointment!
Welcome, Rebecca!
