Janae and Adam received their prenatal care for Miss Avalon from Certified Nurse Midwife Audra De Groot at Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, Iowa, and OB Nurse Erica Robertson, part of the home birth team from Promise.
The Russell family opened their home for Avalon’s home birth in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Certified Nurse Midwife Audra De Groot and OB Nurse Erica Robertson helped deliver Miss Avalon JoAnne during the birth at their home.
Avalon was welcomed into the family by big brother Oliver (7) and big sisters Ivy (4) and Nova (2).

Patients must be located within 60 miles of Sioux Center, have a low-risk pregnancy, no history of cesarean section and no major medical history.
