Jennifer Marie, daughter of Jon and Mylidiah of Ireton, IA, was born 5:43 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in her home, weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. She is the family’s first child.
Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Nurse Kari Ney also assisted.
They said it was “a great experience.”
“We felt very comfortable in our home during labor and birth with Belinda and Kari by our side. We would be happy to do it again.”
