Promise Community Health Center is proud to celebrate an exciting professional milestone for Mental Health Therapist Jenni Plathe, who has officially earned her Independent Social Work License (LICSW)! This achievement reflects years of dedication, clinical expertise, and a profound commitment to delivering high-quality mental health care.
Earning an Independent Social Work License is a significant step in a therapist’s career. The licensure requires three years of supervised clinical practice, ongoing professional education, and a rigorous four-hour state licensing exam. With this credential, Jenni is now able to practice independently, make autonomous clinical decisions, and continue providing therapy without supervision.
Since joining Promise in November 2022, Jenni has been a valued member of the Mental Health team, known for her collaborative, strengths-based approach to care. She offers services rooted in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, tailoring each therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs, goals, and cultural considerations of her patients. Her work focuses on empowering individuals, couples, and families to recognize their strengths and navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
Earning her LICSW marks an important next chapter in Jenni’s career and reinforces her readiness to take on increased responsibility in her clinical work. With independent licensure, she can continue focusing on what matters most to her, supporting patients as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healing. This license also allows Jenni to continue expanding her skills through additional education and training for mental health services available at Promise. Her dedication and passion directly support Promise’s mission of providing accessible care to our community.
Jenni is grateful for the support she received throughout this journey. She extends heartfelt thanks to her husband and children for their encouragement during long nights of studying and exam preparation. She’s also thankful for her coworkers at Promise, whose support and celebration made this achievement even more special.
We are incredibly proud of Jenni and the care, compassion, and commitment she brings to Promise every day. Please join us in congratulating her on earning her Independent Social Work License and celebrating this well-deserved accomplishment!
